Happy Teen Tech Week!

Happy Teen Tech Week!  Check out the book display in the library entryway for some tech reads. Look around the library for blue posters with the Teen Tech logo for ideas on how to celebrate Teen Tech Week:

  • Check out an audiobook and load it onto your iPod or mp3 player.
  • Visit our library’s website: http://www.hopewell.k12.pa.us/
    hslib/homepage.html
  • Blog about your favorite books. Sign up for a free blog at www.wordpress.com or www.blogger.com
  • Try a book-centered website: www.librarything.com, www.goodreads.com orwww.shelfari.com. It’s social networking for bookworms.
  • Create a soundtrack for your favorite book and upload the playlist to your iPod to listen while you read.
  • Ask the librarian to recommend a nonfiction book on an area of technology that interests you.
  • Add something to an article on Wikipedia. www.wikipedia.com (Make sure to check your facts!)
  • Many authors welcome e-mail from readers, and some even have their own MySpace and Facebook profiles. Why not send them a message? Ask the librarian to help find an author.
Learn about HTML (and practice it) with W3School’s tutorial: http://www.w3schools.com/html
  • Create a video (“book trailer”) about your favorite book and upload it to YouTube.
  • Read a newspaper article from the day you were born in the InfoTrac Newsstand in the POWER Library.
  • Volunteer to help clean the computers and media in the library. (Miss Huth will appreciate it!)
  • Search in a database for an article about your favorite musical artist. Or try: www.biography.com
  • Start a Delicious account to keep track of your favorite websites: www.delicious.com
  • Comment on this blog! 🙂
